Ku Mo Sushi in Belleville

Me and my friend arrived for our meal at Kumo. There was another customer who was having difficulty with understanding something regarding the menu with regards to the sashmi pricing. He walked out and was very visibly frustrated and the owner was even more frustrated with the experience (as she had already prepared some of the food, as it was pre-ordered on the phone). We showed empathy to her while making our order and discussed the situation. She proceeded to bring us THREE free rolls at no charge (not sure if they were already made or not). We also got salad and miso soup on the house (which is normal) before getting our bibimbap and spicy tuna roll. All the food was amazing and of high quality and freshness as usual.

It is definitely one of the BEST restaurant in Belleville. I enjoyed all the menus I ordered, taste was really great, portion was enough or more, and the price was reasonable too. When I have a chance to drop by Belleville again, I will visit here again. My kids also love Bulgogi(the sauce was sweet for me but it is perfect for my son’s taste), the pork cutlet and fried shrimps/vegetables. So, I had to order here two dinners in a row. If you like korean food or sushi, you never disappointed here.

Cute, mom and pop shop feel. The fish is fresh and delicious! Service is great and would definitely visit again. However the rice was al dente, which I have never seen at a sushi place. We had 2 rolls and both were too big to eat easily.

We ordered a sushi feast for the 2 of us. We ordered 4 rolls plus an order of toro. It came with miso soup and salad. Just under $70 and we definitely ordered too much lol, 3 rolls would have been plenty. The rolls are huge and sooooo good. I will say this is the best sushi place in Belleville that I've tried. Better than Dragon Roll, Toro, or Aji Sai.

WOW. Just went here on lunch, and the service was 10/10. Even though we were just getting takeout, we were still offered a seat and drinks while we looked at the menu. I'm eating vegan, and I ordered the vegetable sushi Bento box, and the server and kitchen staff were so accommodating to my dietary needs. Really stoked about that.And the sushi was so good and fresh! Salad, soup and dumplings, all amazing. My partner got the dynamite roll and it was so big! This isn't just standard sized like at a run of the mill buffet, it's quality and great portions.Will absolutely go again!

It is more expensive than other similar places but you get pretty large quantities and they gave me salad, miso soup, and some noodle thing which I didn’t expect but tasted good. The sushi was good but I don’t feel like you get a ton of fish in the roll for the price. I ordered two rolls and only got a small thing of soy which also was not enough soy sauce. The food did taste good, and the extras they threw in were nice and tasty. The service is really friendly and they offered me a complimentary drink last time.

My favourite sushi place in Belleville!!.I'm a sushi fanatic and I've pretty much tried all the sushi restos in Belleville and I must say this place tops them all! the quality is always fresh, portion is generous and the presentation is on point! they even give you complementary soup and salad with your orders. The owners and their daughter are so sweet, they are always doing whatever it takes to make her customers satisfied! I wish they were on skip the dishes so i could use them more often!

The owners are very nice. Great presentation of food, free salad, free green tea and free miso soup. The best sushi I have had so far. I was unsure of trying this restaurant at first as not many vehicles in parking lot. But so glad I did. I have been here 3X now in past two weeks. Can't wait to go back.

Love coming here! Whenever I'm in Belleville for work I always make a point to come here! Everything is fresh and prepared just for you. Fish melts in your mouth, rice cooked perfectly, miso is flavorful without being overly salty. Better than most sushi places in Toronto, by far!

Despite being completely overloaded with orders, curbside pickup was friendly, obliging and most importantly, the sushi was delicious. It was so fresh and well made we even had leftovers for lunch.Will absolutely be returning.

As with most reviews, everyone was really pleasant and friendly. That said... I arrived just after 1pm on a weekday, so was expecting a quick in-n-out. There was one lady working. Seating guests taking orders, prepping food, serving.. etc. Staff of 1. Fine.. it won't be quick. Frustating that she took my order incorrectly, and understandably. The spicy salmon roll is all fried bits and mayo, missing any fish texture. Portion sizes for rolls were too large as well. There were a couple that had to be 2x bites. Every watch someone try to bite a sushi roll in 2 bites? I mean, totally understand it's one woman carrying too many hats, so give her a break right? Wish I'd gone elsewhere.

I love coming here! I moved to the area from Toronto and since Korean food is one of my favourite cuisines, I was searching for something to fulfill my cravings. Look no further! The japanese food here is delicious and FRESH but for me, I keep coming back for the Korean food since the restaurant is Korean owned. The bibimbap (rice in stone bowl), hoe deop bap (cubed raw fish with rice) and pa jeon (seafood pancake) are my faves! The couple that owns this spot is always so gracious and genuinely happy to see you; once you enter, you know you'll want to return. I hope they receive all the business they can handle!

Good prices and friendly staff but felt the fish was frozen not fresh and overall low quality. For example frozen beans and no tofu and sea wheat in miso soup. Tuna had a dark crust around it. Means not fresh

Super friendly staff. Sushi is top notch too. I’m glad I stopped for a late lunch. Personal recommendations are black and rainbow dragon rolls. Simply delicious!

So good and fresh always, the best place for sushi in Belleville

The ability of the sushi chef is amateur at best. An excellent display of poor rice quality and excessive use of vinegar. The rolls are an awkward size ruining the umami of a sushi roll. They seem unaware of how to make a decent sushi roll. However their quality of fish is quite good as is the service.

We stumbled upon this excellent sushi place by accident, and truthfully, sat in the parking lot for a minute discussing whether we would go in or not. There were no other cars there, and it is in a strip mall.We are so happy that we decided to go in. The restaurant is run by a couple and their daughter, and they were incredibly friendly and helpful. The sushi is among the best we have ever had in Canada, and we have eaten sushi in a lot of different places including Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. We highly recommend Ku Mo sushi, and we will certainly be back the next time we are in Belleville!

Hands down the best sushi in Belleville. Pay a little extra but I assure you it's worth every penny and the customer service is second to none. I frequent this restaurant on a very regular basis and highly recommend it to everyone. If you like sushi, do yourself a favor and try it!

Back again today . Great little spot. Just off the highway. My go to for sushi now . Family run. The place is a gem! I have never had a bad experience . The MISO soup is packed with flavor and its amazing, I crush 2 bowls everytime I'm here.

I have visited Ku Mo Sushi several times and have yet to be disappointed. The couple that are always there make you feel welcome immediately, maintain prompt, attentive service, and WOW do they ever put together beautiful plates. The food is delicious, which makes me wonder why the restaurant is almost always empty when I have been there. Everyone should experience Ku Mo!

Great little spot. Strange location and arguably the best quality in the Belleville area. Mom and pop style. Not all you can eat, but worth the higher quality. Bathrooms could be improved, not dirty but being used for mop storage.

It saddens me to write a bad review, they are a small business just trying to earn a living. If you compare their sushi to the others in Belleville, it’s about on par. If you’re fine with mediocre sushi, which is all this city offers, then go for it. Unfortunately if you’re use to eating great sushi in Toronto, it just doesn’t compare. The shrimp tempura was undercooked so the batter was mushy, the salmon was lightly fishy tasting and the rice wasn’t as good as I can make at home with my rice maker. Lovely people, and I wish them well, but i did not finish eating the meal I paid $30 for due to the quality.

You can dine in now. oyakon don chicken is a MUST. BIG Portions here. Small place. Great food. Sushi also On point. Highly recommend as a stop during a road trip. Excellent!!

I personally had the bibimbap, it was very tasty. My only reason for giving it 3 and not 4 stars is that typically Korean food comes (especially bibimbap) comes with a small assortment of banchan (Korean side dishes) and here it that was not the case. Food was good though, prices were reasonable, and staff were polite. I'd go back.

We have had sushi at two other places in Belleville but tried this place only because we were nearby at the home store up the road. So glad we did! It was amazing. We will be back! Often!

After 7 years of living in Belleville and trying every single sushi place I can honestly say this is the absolute best sushi I’ve ever had - and not just in Belleville but anywhere! The owners/staff are incredibly kind and sweet. They do everything in their power to make your experience a memorable one - I’ve never felt more valued and appreciated as a customer. This will be my go to sushi spot every week and I highly encourage you try it!

Tried for the first time last weekend and wow... it was INCREDIBLE!!! Portions were much larger than anticipated, food was very fresh and prepared in a timely manner. The woman working was super nice and accommodating. Can't wait to go back!!
